Campus Emergencies:

If an emergency arises, your instructor may inform you of actions to follow. You are responsible for knowing emergency evacuation routes from your classroom. If police or university officials order you to evacuate, do so calmly and assist those needing help. You may receive emergency information alerts via the building enunciation system, text message, email, or BTC’s webpage, Facebook and Twitter. Refer to the emergency flipchart in your room for more information on specific types of emergencies.

Early Alert:

BTC is committed to supporting the academic success of all its students. The College has adopted a proactive early alert referral system, which is a collaborative, student-centered process involving faculty, advisors and students. The early alert referral system is a tool for faculty to identify students who are experiencing academic or attendance difficulties especially during the first few weeks of each quarter. Students who receive an alert will be contacted by someone on the early alert student success team to direct them to appropriate next steps and resources for success.

Financial Aid:

The Student Financial Resources (SFR) office at Bellingham Technical College is your one-stop center for all student funding needs including financial aid, Workforce programs and Veteran’s benefits. Students seeking financial aid should complete either a FAFSA or WASFA each year. Eligible students should complete an online FAFSA application. Students who have HB1079 or DACA should complete an online WASFA application. Any documentation requested must be complete before your eligibility is finalized. Students who have completed a financial aid application can check their status by logging in to their Student Financial Aid Portal on the SFR website. Library:

The BTC Library overlooks Bellingham Bay on the third floor of the Campus Center Building. It offers a variety of services, technology and study spaces to meet the educational needs of students.

The Library houses a physical collection of 12,000 books and media as well as online resources that include more than155,000 eBooks and 20+ databases. One-on-one assistance is available for reference, research and technology support. The Library supports an open computer lab of 80 computers with 40+ software programs. A variety of equipment is available for check out, including laptops and iPads, and media-enhanced rooms are available for group study.

Tutoring:

Drop-in tutoring is available at no cost to students when classes are in session. Tutors are recruited in all subjects where tutoring assistance is requested. The Tutoring Center is located in Building H, Rooms 9 and 15.
