The Key to Success in an Online Course: Participation

To succeed in an online or hybrid course, it's essential to show up and stay engaged!

You must check in and participate within the first two days of the quarter to secure your spot in the class. Start by reading your syllabus and any introductory information provided by your instructor to understand how to get started. Each instructor may have different expectations based on the number of credits for the course, so be sure to know what's required from the beginning.

In general, you should plan to log in and participate several times per week. Participation can include:

Submitting assignments on time.
Posting to discussion boards.
Replying to your classmates' comments.
Providing updates on any ongoing projects.

If you're ever unclear about how or when you're expected to participate, don't hesitate to ask your instructor through email or the course's messaging system.
