Can I do it?

Yes! You can give your students limited creator access to Panopto so they can create and submit their own videos. You can even create and configure assignments that allow your students to record a Panopto video directly into the assignment submission editor.

How do I do it?

Add a Panopto Assignment Folder to Your Course

Select "Panopto Recordings" from the course navigation menu.
Click on the gear icon (top right) to open the Folder Settings.
Select "Overview" from the Settings menu.
Click "Create Assignment Folder".
Optional step: Click "Settings" and check "Allow viewers to see each other's sessions."
Close the Folder Settings window.
Confirm that you now have a new folder titled Course name [assignments].

Add a Panopto Assignment to Your Course

Select "Assignments" from the course navigation menu.
Click the Add Assignment icon (plus symbol [+]).
Click the "More Options" button to open the assignment editor.
Fill in the "Assignment Name" field.
Select "Online" from the "Submission Type" drop-down menu.
Check "Text Entry" from the "Online Entry Options".
Fill in the remaining Assignment Details (points, due date, etc.).
Click "Save & Publish".

Keep in mind...

Your students may not have experience using Panopto. Make sure to provide detailed instructions on how to create video and submit an assignment using Panopto. Be sure to include information on who they can contact to get help.
