What is the problem?

Are your students having trouble viewing your Panopto videos?
Have you received a message from Panopto that a student is requesting access to a video in your course?

If you have encountered either of these issues, it is likely that the "Share" settings on your video are too restrictive. We recommend that you apply the "Anyone with the link" share setting to your Panopto videos. This way, students will still be able to view your recordings, even if you reuse them in different Canvas courses.

How do I fix it?

Locate the video to update "Share" settings.
- Contact eLearning for help if you have trouble locating your video.
Hover your curser over the video to display additional options.
Click the "Share" button.
Under "Who can access this video", click "Change".
Select "Public (unlisted) Anyone who has the link" from the dropdown menu.
Click the "Save" button.

Keep in mind...

The Public (unlisted) setting will allow anyone with the link view the video. With this setting enabled, students will be able to view the video from any section of the course where you have linked or embedded the video.
